So the semester's ending, huh? Just like that? You know, I put all this work into school (though to be fair, I've had a horrible semester school-wise) and then boom, it just ends. Often times I don't even feel like I went to school during the semester. During some semesters that's actually true. The end of another semester of school is a bittersweet experience, to be quite honest. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm just as happy as the next guy that I don't have to go to school until the next (sorry summer school boys and gals), but there's something about the end of the semester that just gets me. Maybe it's the fact that there are some friends I may never see again, or friends that I won't get to see for months. I dunno. Having to work also sucks, but I've done that during school and I got over it. Basically, not being able to see some of the people I love and am friends with sucks (shout out to my little sister who's leaving on a mission over the summer--I'll miss you, homie!). I don't know how else to explain it.
But in another sense, I don't have to deal with school for another semester. So that's cool.
So anyway, the semester's ending, and that means that something else is starting. Like, my friends have left, but that doesn't mean things can't go on. No no. The show must go on. I've spent a lot off summers just playing video games, which is pathetic, I'll admit, but I'm determined to make this summer something different. Summer is a great time to work, obviously, but it's more than that. It's a time to go out and do things that you've always wanted to do. Me? I think I'm gonna go on some adventures. I'm gonna make some money and go visit places I've never been too before. I'm gonna write my novel. I'm gonna write my blog. I'm gonna go outside and enjoy the world. Why? Because I'm tried of the same old thing, tired of the same old life. I want to live and enjoy my life. I want to make the world a better place. The end of the semester is the beginning of my new life, my happy life.
So the semester's over (for the most of us), huh? What are you gonna do with your time? How are you deciding to live? You can stay inside and do what you've always done if it works for you. If that makes you happy, go for it. If you want to do something exciting--maybe see the world--go for it! Do what's good for you and for the rest of the world.
The summer is your beginning. Not your end. Make it so.
Happy Summer.
